Brightwell Aquatics PhosphatR is a next-generation regenerable resin designed to remove phosphate and silicate from both marine and freshwater aquarium systems. Unlike traditional phosphate control products like activated alumina or ferric-based media, PhosphatR offers exceptional durability and efficiency without disintegrating or releasing bound compounds once exhausted.
Phosphate levels above 0.05 ppm can negatively affect reef and freshwater tanks, contributing to nutrient buildup and reducing water clarity. PhosphatR targets reactive phosphate and silicate molecules, binding them to its surface to reduce nutrient levels quickly and safely. Made from high-performance synthetic polymer beads, the resin maintains structure under pressure, allowing for longer contact time and better flow dynamics.
PhosphatR works effectively in fluidized-bed reactors, canister filters, or passive filter bags. It does not dissolve, degrade, or leach aluminum—making it reef-friendly and reliable. Its regenerable design allows the media to be recharged up to five times using Brightwell Aquatics Regenerat PHOR, greatly increasing its value over time.
Use PhosphatR for continuous phosphate control or as part of a routine maintenance plan. When paired with good aquarium practices—such as controlled feeding, pre-filtering organics, and routine water changes—it can help maintain crystal-clear, low-nutrient water in all aquarium types.
DIRECTIONS
Before First Use:
1. Rinse resin under purified water thoroughly.
Initial Application:
2. Use 1 ml of resin per 1 gallon of aquarium water.
3. Monitor phosphate levels daily.
Subsequent Uses:
4. Increase to 2 ml of resin per 1 gallon if needed.
For Reactors:
5. Use as directed by filter manufacturer.
6. Adjust flow to create a steady "boil" in the lower 2/3 of the reactor chamber.
For Canister Filters:
7. Load into cartridge as directed.
8. Reduce flow if needed for better contact time.
For Passive Use:
9. Place loosely in 150µm mesh bag in low-to-medium flow.
10. Turn the bag over periodically to improve contact.
When to Regenerate:
If phosphate levels stop decreasing after 4–6 hours, remove and regenerate resin using RegenerātPHOR.
