The (Hybrid) Lemon Peel Angel (Centropyge flavissima x vrolikii) is a truly unique and sought-after dwarf angel. It is a natural hybrid resulting from the interbreeding of the vibrant Lemon Peel Angel and the Half-black (or Vrolik's) Angel, both from the Indo-Pacific.
This fish showcases a captivating blend of characteristics from both parent species. It primarily features the intense, solid yellow body color that the Lemon Peel Angel is famous for, which creates a stunning centerpiece. However, it also typically develops a striking "mask" of deeper, often pearlescent gray or subtle black markings around its eyes and sometimes its gill plates, inherited from its Half-black Angel parentage. Every individual is slightly different, making each fish a true collectible with its own distinct pattern variations.
It is a resilient species that, like other dwarf angelfish, is best suited for established aquariums with ample live rock. While generally peaceful, it can be aggressive towards other angelfish and requires a minimum tank size of 55 gallons for long-term health and swim space.
